Feb. 10, 2016 9:59 am
AMES — Two more familiar faces within the Iowa State football program won't be with the team in 2016.
Iowa State Coach Matt Campbell announced Wednesday in a release wide receiver D'Vario Montgomery and running back Joshua Thomas are no longer on the team.
Montgomery, a senior, was dismissed for violating team rules and Thomas, a sophomore, opted to transfer to another school. Montgomery had 27 catches for 335 yards and three touchdowns last season while Thomas got 75 carries for 295 yards and seven touchdowns in his lone season in Ames.
Montgomery and Thomas join offensive linemen Daniel Burton and Nick Severs as notable departures so far this off-season.
