Iowa State 35th in Learfield Directors’ Cup final standings, Iowa 64th
Cyclones have their second-best showing ever while Hawkeyes drop 16 spots from last year

The 2023-24 college athletics season is officially over, and Iowa State had its second-best finish ever in the Division I Learfield Directors’ Cup standings.
The Directors’ Cup measures success in all sports. Iowa State ranked 35th nationally, and fourth in the Big 12 Conference behind Texas (first), Oklahoma State (19th) and Oklahoma (24th).
Only Iowa State’s 34th-place finish in 2010 tops its latest finish. It was 62nd last year, and in the Top 50 in the previous years.
Iowa was 64th, 12th-best in the Big Ten and down from 48th a year ago.

Wartburg was the highest-ranked school from Iowa in the Division III standings at 17th. Coe was 77th, Luther 101st, Cornell College 157th of 323 schools nationwide.
