Jan. 26, 2016 9:34 pm
IOWA CITY — The Iowa men's basketball team now sits atop of the Big Ten all by itself.
Wisconsin upset former league co-leader Indiana 82-79 in overtime to hand the Hoosiers their first Big Ten defeat. Indiana (17-4, 7-1 Big Ten) lost for the 14th consecutive time at Wisconsin (12-9, 4-4 Big Ten).
The Hawkeyes (16-3, 7-0 Big Ten) hold a one-game lead over the Hoosiers and a two-game advantage over Maryland (17-3, 6-2 Big Ten) and Michigan (15-5, 5-2 Big Ten) in the loss column. Iowa plays at Maryland on Thursday night.
Iowa is ranked third by the Associated Press and fourth by the USA Today/Coaches poll. Coach Fran McCaffery said he's not paying attention to his team's ranking.
'We've got 11 more very difficult games,' McCaffery said. 'A lot could change between now and the end of the season. So you really lock into what can we do in this next game to be better and what can we do to beat a really good team on the road.'
