Aug. 8, 2016 4:12 pm
IOWA CITY — Iowa's Big Ten-ACC Challenge game at Notre Dame will tip off at 8 p.m. Nov. 29 on ESPN, the leagues announced Monday.
It marks the teams' third meeting in the last four seasons but only the fourth since the 1970 postseason. The Hawkeyes beat the Irish 98-83 in the 2013 Big Ten-ACC Challenge at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Last year, Notre Dame beat Iowa 68-62 in a consolation round game at the AdvoCare Invitational match-up last November in Orlando.
Both teams qualified for the NCAA tournament last year. Iowa advanced to the second round, while Notre Dame earned a trip to the Elite Eight.
Iowa returns one starter in senior Peter Jok, who averaged 16.1 points a game as a second-team all-Big Ten selection. The Irish bring back three starters: V.J. Beachum (12.0 ppg), Steve Vasturia (11.4 ppg), and Bonzie Colson (11.1 ppg). Both lost All-American players in forward Jarrod Uthoff (Iowa) and guard Demetrius Jackson (Notre Dame).
The Hawkeyes have won their last three Big Ten-ACC Challenge games after losing 10 of their first 12 in the annual series.
