Iowa's 55-24 demolition of then-No. 6 Ohio State last week earned it a spot in the College Football Playoff rankings for the first time since 2015.
The Hawkeyes (6-3) come in at No. 20 in this season's second set of rankings, one spot ahead of Iowa State (6-3), which it beat in overtime back in September. Iowa is No. 25 in this week's AP poll and not ranked in the coaches poll.
The top four of Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame and Clemson remained unchanged. Oklahoma and TCU are fifth and sixth, followed by Miami.
This is the first time in the CFP era that both the Hawkeyes and Cyclones are ranked.
Iowa travels to No. 8 Wisconsin for a 2:30 p.m. game Saturday. The Badgers (9-0) are the lowest-ranked unbeaten Power Five team and moved up a spot after Ohio State and Penn State lost.
Ohio State dropped to No. 13, one spot behind its opponent this week, Michigan State. Penn State is 14th and Northwestern is No. 25.
Iowa State fell six spots after last week's 20-16 loss at West Virginia. The Cyclones host No. 15 Oklahoma State (7-2) at 11 a.m. Saturday.
