Iowa Hawkeyes have 4 No. 2 pre-seeds for Big Ten Championships

The Big Ten Conference released the preliminary seeds Monday for the conference tournament Saturday and Sunday.
University of Iowa will host the Big Ten Championships this weekend at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
The Hawkeyes have seven wrestlers seeded third or better at their respective weights and nine overall seeded wrestlers.
Big Ten finalists Thomas Gilman (125) and 149-pounder Brandon Sorensen, NCAA runner-up Cory Clark (133) and Alex Meyer at 174 are all seeded second. Sammy Brooks (184), senior All-American 197-pounder Nathan Burak and heavyweight Sam Stoll are seeded third.
Edwin Cooper is fifth at 157, while Patrick Rhoads is eighth at 165. The lone unseeded weight for Iowa is 141.
The Big Ten earned 71 automatic NCAA berths. Nine automatic berths are at 133 and 174. Five weights — 125, 141, 157, 184 and heavyweight — will qualify seven for the NCAA tournament. The top six at 149, 165 and 197 will advance.
