Iowa golf hosts Golfweek Conference Challenge

IOWA CITY - Iowa's men's golf team plays host to the annual Golfweek Conference Challenge on Sept 25-27 at Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa.
The three-day, 15-team tournament, which comprises teams from 15 different conferences is regarded as one of the nation's top collegiate golf tournaments. The team favorite is LSU, which won the NCAA title last spring. Among the golfers, SMU's Bryson DeChambeau is the showcase competitor. DeChambeau joined Jack Nicklaus (1961), Phil Mickelson (1990), Tiger Woods (1996) and Ryan Moore (2004) as the only golfers to win the NCAA individual title and the U.S. amateur title in the same year.
Other teams participating include Charleston Southern, Eastern Michigan, Furman, Idaho, Kansas State, Long Beach State, North Carolina State, Pacific, San Jose State, Southern Illinois and Virginia Commonwealth.
Iowa's lineup includes junior Raymond Knoll. senior Nate Yankovich, junior Carson Schaake, freshman Matthew Walker and senior Voromate Aussarassakorn.
The first round begins at 9 a.m. Friday, continues at 9 a.m. Saturday and concludes with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Each team plays 18 holes a day.
