Iowa gets B1G border foes just once in 2015-16

IOWA CITY - Iowa's men's basketball team will face its border Big Ten rivals just once in regular-season play next year.

Thursday, Big Ten officials announced single- and double-play match-ups for the 2015-16 men's basketball season. Iowa will play host to Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Northwestern at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in the teams' only scheduled meetings next year. The Hawkeyes will face Illinois only once for the second consecutive season, with that game held in Champaign, Ill.

Iowa will play Indiana, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State twice next season. The Hawkeyes' other road single-play games include stops at Maryland, Rutgers and Ohio State.

Iowa's women's basketball team has the same single- and double-play opponents. The only difference is Iowa's women play host to Illinois, Maryland, Ohio State and Rutgers and they travel to Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern and Wisconsin.

Game dates will be announced in late summer or early fall.
