Alternate uniforms were a matter of when, not if, for an Iowa football game this season. Sunday night, we found out when: the Hawkeyes will wear 'blackout' uniforms for Saturday's game against No. 3 Ohio State.
Iowa had previously announced fans were encouraged to wear black for this game.
So it's black helmets, black jerseys and black pants, with gray numbers -- notice the block-I pattern inside the numbers, too -- and a touch of gold.
I can finally show these off! Fun shoot with October 30, 2017

One side of the helmet features a black Tigerhawk logo, while the other has the player's number -- both outlined in gold.
Iowa went with a blackout concept against Minnesota two years ago, but this year's version isn't as gold heavy.
Iowa (5-3, 2-3) and Ohio State (7-1, 5-0) kick off at 2:30 p.m. at Kinnick Stadium. It will be shown on ESPN.
The Iowa Hawkeyes will wear all-black uniforms Saturday against No. 3 Ohio State.
