Ames: Michael Weber (7.1 PPG), Yempabou Palo (8.9 PPG), Harrison Barnes (19.7 PPG), Jesse Prithcard (10.8 PPG), James Kohler (5.3 PPG).

2:00: Ames leads, 13-10, but Barnes just picked up his second foul.
It's Ames by a 20-12 count after a quarter. Initial impressions of the Little Cyclones is they're the Big Cyclones. They go 6-8, 6-6 and 6-4 up front in their starting lineup. They bring 6-7 Doug McDermott (son of Iowa State coach Greg) and 6-4 Riley Stuve off the bench.

Ames is up at halftime, 32-18. Ames has hit 12 of 19 shots (63.2 percent) and has a 14-4 rebound edge. Barnes played sparingly in the first half because of foul trouble and has just 4 points.

3:00: Another layup for McDermott, and a 3 from Barnes. He suddenly has 11 points. West crowd chanting “Go to Iowa! Go to Iowa!” It's 47-25 Ames.
1:00: Ames shooting 71.4 percent. Layups are a wonderful thing. 51-29 Little Cyclones.
Ames shoots 64.4 percent from the field and wins in a rout, 69-42. McDermott finishes with 22 points, Barnes has 11. Bontrager leads West with 16.
Duke assistant coach Steve Wojchiechowski (sp?) in the stands. Wonder who he is recruiting?
