Iowa baseball not selected for NCAA tournament
Not in the Field of 64, Hawkeyes finish season 26-18

IOWA CITY — The University of Iowa baseball team officially saw its season come to a conclusion Monday.
The Hawkeyes were not one of 64 teams selected for NCAA regional play, which begins this weekend. The field was announced Monday afternoon.
Iowa was a long shot for an at-large berth after finishing with a 26-18 record and in a tie for fourth place in the Big Ten Conference with Indiana. The Hawkeyes faltered some down the stretch, though they did sweep Michigan State in their final series this past weekend.
Indiana also was left out of the postseason. The Big Ten had three teams make it: first-place Nebraska, second-place Maryland and third-place Michigan.
The league played a conference-only schedule this season, which likely did not help it when it came to the number of at-large picks. Iowa Coach Rick Heller repeatedly said this season that this was the strongest he could remember the Big Ten ever being, though it was difficult to tell how that translated on a national scale without no out-of-conference games.
Iowa has not made it to a NCAA regional since 2017.
