Iowa 51st, ISU 59th in Directors' Cup standings

Iowa finished 51st and Iowa State 59th in the 2016-17 Learfield Directors' Cup standings, which measure competitive success for all NCAA Division I schools.

It marked improvement for both. Iowa was 62nd and Iowa State 64th in the 2015-16 school year.

Northern Iowa was 145th this year, third-best among Missouri Valley Conference schools.

Iowa was just 12th-best in the Big Ten.
