Every racer, whether it be Carl Edwards and Jimmie Johnson fighting for them on Sundays during the NASCAR season or the guys racing on Friday nights at Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids, points are what earn championships in nearly all forms of racing. It's no different at local BMX tracks around the country, including the track in Cedar Rapids.
This week, and the weekend in particular, is a big opportunity for BMX riders to earn points when the local track hosts a single point race on Tuesday and Friday nights and triple point races on Saturday and Sunday.
