Hot and cold

I know I've been writing about the difference in weather between my former home in Florida and my new home in Iowa, but I thought I'd show you an example. While it has been unseasonably cold in Cedar Rapids for the past week, the opposite has been true in the Tampa Bay area.
Check out the temperatures recorded in my Camry and my wife's Town & Country at the same time Sunday afternoon. While it actually was not over 100 degrees down there, it has been in the mid-90s and setting records. My daughters even went swimming Sunday, probably for the last time this year as they will be moving up here in two weeks. And, it certainly was 44 degrees up here - and even colder in the morning.
Everyone keeps warning me about the winters in Iowa, but I've got to tell you that the summers -- which actually run from mid-April to late October -- are pretty nasty in central Florida. Hot and nasty.
And, we have the electric bills to prove it. So, throw a log on the fire and let it snow.
