Hopp named track coach at Linn-Mar

MARION -- Linn-Mar High School has hired Nathan Hopp to become the head girls' track coach for the upcoming track season.Hopp, 29, is the boys' cross country coach at Xavier High School and has been an assistant track coach for the Saints the past three seasons. Prior to coming to Xavier, Hopp was a coach with the Cedar Rapids Track Club.A graduate of Clear Creek Amana High School in 2002, Hopp ran cross country and track for the Clippers. He went on to Mount Mercy University, where he was a two-time NAIA national qualifier in the marathon for outdoor track. He also received All-Conference honors as a cross country runner for the Mustangs.Hopp succeeds Craig Pilcher.
