Hlastradamus: Go with Hawkeyes and their fellow underdogs

If you'll recall, it was in 1909 when Hlastradamus told you the Chicago Cubs wouldn't win another World Series until 2016.

For those of you who weren't around then, you're forgiven for being unaware.

Hlastradamus did the same thing last week as Iowa's football team. He had a bye week. He used the time wisely, getting him some training for his UFC 205 bout against Conor McGregor on Nov. 12.

But this week, it's doing what he does best, which is give you winners.

Iowa +7.5

at Penn State

Hlastradamus hears Penn State is thinking it has a shot at going to the Rose Bowl. Well, the prophet once thought he had a chance of dating Lucrezia Borgia. Prophets can be blind in the game of love.

It's too many points, and the seer is loving underdogs this week.

Nebraska +17

at Ohio State

In case you haven't noticed, the Buckeyes have fallen to the ranks of mere mortals. So mere mortals are going to beat Nebraska by 17 after staving off Northwestern and losing to Penn State?

Hlastradamus says that's not how mortality works.

Northwestern +7

vs. Wisconsin

The Badgers almost beat Ohio State at home. The Wildcats almost beat Ohio State in Ohio Stadium.

So in a game at Northwestern, the Badgers are 7-point picks over the Wildcats? After playing Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa and Nebraska in succession, Wisconsin has to be mentally weary. Northwestern? That's just a half-hour ride on the elevated train to Wrigleyville, so spirits are soaring there

at Minnesota and

Illinois +7

vs. Michigan State and

Rutgers +14

vs. Indiana

Purdue, Illinois and Rutgers are shells of teams, but Hlastradamus sees them summoning up every bit of intestinal fortitude they possess for one Saturday and ... barely covering the spread while still losing.

Maryland +31

at Michigan

In case you haven't been paying attention, Jim Harbaugh's Wolverines are good.

But in case you haven't been paying even closer attention, they failed to cover in three of their last four games.

Navy +7

at Notre Dame

Navy is better, not worse, than Notre Dame. That makes handicapping easy.
