By Diane Temple, Maquoketa Valley newspaper adviserDELHI - Maquoketa Valley is 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Class 1A-5 as it looks for another win tonight against Alburnett for homecoming.The Wildcats defeated Jesup, 41-6, on Jesup's home field last Friday.The 'Cats came out strong and held Jesup scoreless in the first half. Early in the first quarter, Ryan Parmely had a six-yard rushing touchdown with Rob Bockenstedt making good on the extra point. Less than four minutes later, quarterback Ben Dzaboff had a 34-yard rushing touchdown with Bockenstedt once again nailed the extra point.In the second quarter, Jared Coyle found his way into the end zone on a 12-yard rushing touchdown, followed by a successful extra point kick by Bockenstedt. With 43 seconds left in the half, Dzaboff passed to Coyle for a 37-yard touchdown reception. Bockenstedt again made the extra point.After halftime, Dzaboff once again found Coyle, who capitalized on the pass with a 46-yard touchdown reception. Bockenstedt followed up with another successful PAT kick. With 4:49 left in the third quarter, Jesup finally found the end zone on a seven-yard rushing touchdown. With 20 seconds left in the game, Coyle had a 32-yard punt return for a final touchdown.MV dominated in yardage with 417 yards to Jesup's 194. MV also limited its penalities to two compared to Jesup's five.Dzaboff passed for 165 yards, completing 7 of 10 attempts. Coyle tallied 104 receiving yards and 16 rushing yards. Parmely had 152 rushing yards. Dzaboff had 35 rushing yards, Steve Huber gained 26 and Trevor Koopmann 23.Defensively, Aaron Dzaboff had an interception he returned 49 yard and Coyle had an interception with no gain. Parmely had two sacks while Huber and Matt Lansing each had one. Parmely had 13 tackles while Tanner Hargrafen and Huber each had eight.
