By Daniel Vega, Xavier seniorCEDAR RAPIDS - Winter is here and that means Xavier boys' basketball.Coach Ryan Luehrsmann starts his second season with the Saints with high expectations. The team is ranked seventh by rivals.com.Entering their first season in Class 3A since moving to 4A in 2007, the Saints look to get back on track this year.With three of five starters returning, the Saints are loaded with experience. Senior Matt Nelson and juniors Adam McDermott and Calvin Winker return. The team also will have some talented newcomers, such as sophomore Mitch Burger and juniors Matt Downey, Tim Otting, Joe Welsch and Connor Ramlo.Xavier opens the season Tuesday at Mount Pleasant.
