By Daniel Vega, Xavier seniorCEDAR RAPIDS - To some, basketball may be a bit boring. But most people agree a ferocious dunk can really excite the crowd.“When Matt dunks, it ignites the rocket of excitement for the Xavier student section,” said senior student section member Miles Sullivan.Senior center Matt Nelson can get up and slam with power. With a 6-foot-8 frame and a solid 250-pound base, most dunks really rock the crowd.“After a dunk, the crowd really gets into the game and the noise pumps the team up,” Nelson said. “When you look over at the student section when they are going nuts, it makes you want to play harder for them.”As seen recently on TV, Lou's Crew (aka Xavier's student section) went crazy after a thunderous dunk on Cedar Falls players. Nelson finished the game with three dunks and a total of 14 points as the Saints won the game. 65-38.The Saints (11-8, 7-7) host Waterloo East tonight and wrap up the regular season at Iowa City High on Thursday.
