HIGH SCHOOL JOURNALISM: Merger produces catchy new school song

WEST UNION - The whole-grade sharing agreement between North Fayette and Valley high schools has resulted in several merged traditions, but one new school tradition has emerged.
Besides new school colors (blue, silver, and black) and the new mascot (TigerHawks), the football players from the towns of Alpha, Clermont, Eldorado, Elgin, Fayette, Hawkeye, Wadena, and West Union started singing the new school song together at the end of each football game.Heading into tonight's game against rival South Winneshiek, NFV TigerHawks are 5-0.
The team gathers at the end of each game and sings the "Spirit of NFV" to the crowd. The new school song was written and composed by a Valley High School alumni, Al Green, and this upbeat song has a sparked a harmonious singing tradition with the football team at the end of each victory.
