Hermsen named Twins minor league pitcher of year

Former West Delaware prep B.J. Hermsen has been named the minor league pitcher of the year in the Minnesota Twins organization, the Twins have announced.
Hermsen, 22, went 12-6 and had a 2.88 earned run average in 162 2/3 innings at high-Class A Fort Myers and Double-A New Britain this season. He was a sixth-round pick of the Twins in 2008.
Hermsen is sure to be added to the Twins' 40-man major league roster next season, which will give him a good chance of making his big-league debut if he pitches well in Triple-A.
