Heelan boys claim 3A crown

DES MOINES -- Sioux City Heelan unseated DeWitt Central as the Class 3A boys' champion at the state track meet Saturday.

The Crusaders won the final event and finished with 51 points. Central was second with 48, followed by Algona (45).

Clear Creek Amana was the highest finishing area team, placing 13th.

Union's Seth Woodson was the runner-up in the 800-meter run for the highest area individual placing Saturday. He was timed in 1:56.63.
