Hawkeye Dirt Tour kicks off Wednesday

The inaugural season of the Hawkeye Dirt Tour opens Wednesday at Independence Motor Speedway with Mod Mayham with hot laps beginning at 6:45 p.m, followed immediately by heat races and features.

The Hawkeye Dirt Tour, featuring IMCA modifieds, consists of 10 races during the summer. The racing series will compete at the I-35 Speedway in Mason City, Fayette County Speedway in West Union, Cresco Speedway, Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Upper Iowa Speedway in Decorah, Hancock County Speedway in Britt and Marshalltown Speedway before concluding with the Hawkeye Dirt Tour Championship on Sept. 25 at West Burlington's 34 Raceway.

Drivers will compete for regular cash winnings for each race. Season points will be tallied throughout the season.
