Hawk spies Badgers from atop Camp Randall Stadium
Jun. 26, 2015 3:27 pm
IOWA CITY - Iowa and Wisconsin's football rivalry extends nearly 125 years and through 88 mostly hard-fought games. While it's intense, there's a great deal of mutual respect. And sometimes they even poke a little fun at one another.
Wisconsin athletics officials discovered a hawk perched atop Camp Randall Stadium on Friday. The @BadgerFootball Twitter account posted a picture and wrote 'Is this @HawkeyeFootball's idea of spygate?”
Iowa football's response was swift. '@TheRealHerky knew what he was getting himself into when he accepted the mission and knew he would be disavowed if captured.”
The sides bantered a few more times but it didn't take long for a former Badger player to include the teams' other longtime rival, Minnesota.
Beau Allen, a former Wisconsin nose guard, tweeted 'he's keeping the ground free from any gophers...”
Wisconsin has won three straight in the border series and leads all-time 44-42-2. The teams meet in Madison, Wis., on Oct. 3, their first game at Camp Randall Stadium since 2009.
You've got to love college rivalries.
