Golf should be a fall sport

It may sound like a broken record, but I still strongly believe golf should be a fall sport for all classes. Currently, Class 4A boys golf is held in the fall, but all other classes and all four classes of girls golf are held in the spring. They play in the time of year when you're breaking clubs out for the first time, if you're not one of the ones willing to swing at a simulator or hit balls into a net during the winter months.
I can think of multiple springs when teams were hampered by weather. A late thaw and large accumulations of snow have rendered some golf courses unplayable, preventing teams from getting out to practice in a timely manner. Not only are many golfers getting into playing condition, but the preseason in which they attempt to do it could be obsolete.
Fall just seems a lot more beneficial. Golfers have or can play all summer long. They can literally begin the season in mid-season form. The weather is much better from August to October. A few days might be chilly or windy, but it's usually more pleasant than in the spring.
Spring has tennis, track and soccer. Fall has volleyball. cross country and swimming. Either way you're going to have a conflict with participation in girls sports. Boys' sports have football and cross country, but the IHSAA certainly isn't worried about a conflict with football and golf since 4A has played that way. It may be a bigger factor in smaller schools where lower numbers cause them to rely on students to be multi-sport athletes. That would be the only drawback.
I know a couple coaches who have programs in the fall and the spring and they have said they prefer fall play. I agree with them.
If there were a prep sport you would change to another season, what sport would it be, when would you play it and why?
