Iowa City Regina 41, West Branch 29Zoe Dutchik scored 25 points as Iowa City Regina clinched a chare of the Cedar Valley Conference girls' basketball title, 41-29, over West Branch on Friday.The Regals are 13-2 overall, 12-0 in the CVC.
Iowa City West 61, Cedar Rapids Prairie 49West got 18 points from McKenzie Piper and 10 from Shahana Williams en route to a 61-49 Mississippi Valley Conference girls' basketball victory.The Women of Troy, ranked third in Class 4A, maintained their two-game advantage in the Valley Division of the MVC. West is 13-1 overall, 10-0 in conference play.Alyssa Weiland scored 17 points to lead the scoring for the Hawks (3-11, 2-9). Madison Dellamuth added 12.
Cedar Rapids Xavier 52, Cedar Rapids Jefferson 24Emily Walvoord scored 16 points to lead Xavier in a conference victory at Jefferson.Xavier improved to 12-3 overall and 8-3 in Mississippi Valley Conference games.Alex Saxen chipped in with 10 points for the Saints.Rachel Broghammer scored 12 points to lead the scoring for Jefferson (5-8, 4-7).
Linn-Mar 68, Cedar Rapids Kennedy 42Kiah Stokes led all players with 25 points as Class 4A No. 2 Linn-Mar picked up a MVC road win.Kailee Karr added 18 points and Shanice Cheatham contributed 12 points for the Lions (14-1, 10-1 MVC).Courtney Strait led the Cougars (5-8, 5-6) in scoring with 17 points.
Mount Vernon 64, Marion 40Class 3A No. 2 Mount Vernon rolled to the inter-divisonal Wamac victory at Marion.The Mustangs improved to 13-1. Marion dipped to 4-10.
