Girls basketball roundup: No. 9 City High overcomes Ollinger, Jefferson

Amanda Ollinger had a double-double for Jefferson with 25 points and 15 rebounds but the J-Hawks lost, 60-53, last night at No. 9 City High in Iowa City. Kennedy Dighton had 14 points and Kylie Wise added 10 points for Jefferson.
Courtney Joens had 19 points and eight rebounds and Ashley Joens had 14 points and eight rebounds to pace City High (5-1).
MARION 54, BENTON COMMUNITY 25 - Mia Laube led all scorers with 17 points for Marion (5-1) at Van Horne. Michalyn Mohr had 11 points for the Indians. Benton Community (2-4) was led by Jessica Heilman with nine points.
CEDAR VALLEY CHRISTIAN 62, EAST BUCHANAN 46 - Shelby Hembera led all scorers with 48 points as the Huskies (3-2, 2-1 Tri-Rivers) beat the Buccaneers last night in Winthrop. Her sister Molly Hembera finished with 12 points.
Kaylee Naber led East Buchanan (1-6, 1-3) with 20 points while Kylee Cooksley tallied 16 points and Emily Prince scored nine points.
IOWA CITY WEST 60, WATERLOO WEST 33 – Mikaela Morgan led the fourth-ranked Women of Troy with 13 points in a road victory in Waterloo. Emily Halverson finished the game with 12 points for the West (6-0, 4-0 MVC).
Tahya Campbell led all players with 18 points for the Wahawks (1-6, 0-4 MVC).
