CEDAR RAPIDS — Here’s your fourth look of the season at what we call Iowans In The Minors. It’s a bi-weekly look at how baseball players in the major leagues and affiliated minor leagues are fairing.
That’s guys from the Gazette area and University of Iowa.
All the following statistics are through Friday.
Keaton Anthony (Iowa/Philadelphia Phillies) — Outfielder has hits in six of his last seven games for low-Class A Clearwater of the Florida State League. Has a .304 batting average in 31 games this season, with seven doubles and 12 RBIs. Has 24 walks to 20 strikeouts.
Ben Beutel (Davenport Assumption/Iowa/Chicago White Sox) — Lefty reliever has appeared in six games for high-A Winston-Salem of the South Atlantic League. Has no record and a 3.52 earned run average, with 10 strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.
Jake Bockenstedt (Cedar Rapids Washington/Chicago White Sox) — Pitcher is with low-A Kannapolis of the Carolina League. Has a 2-4 record and a 3.62 earned run average in seven appearances, six starts. Has allowed just 30 hits in 32 1/3 innings, with 32 strikeouts.
Will Christophersen (Iowa/Los Angeles Angels) — Right-handed reliever has racked up 40 strikeouts in 26 2/3 innings for low-A Inland Empire of the California League. Has 1-0 record and 5.40 ERA in 13 appearances.
Duncan Davitt (Iowa/Tampa Bay Rays) — His last start was this week for high-A Bowling Green (South Atlantic League). He threw six innings in a win over Wilmington, allowing just five hits and a run. Has a 4-3 record and 3.08 ERA in nine starts this season, with 55 strikeouts in 49 2/3 innings.
Jack Dreyer (Iowa/Los Angeles Dodgers) — Lefty reliever getting settled in at Triple-A Oklahoma (Pacific Coast League) after a promotion from Double-A. Is 0-1 with a 4.05 ERA in six appearances. Nine strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.
Calvin Harris (Western Dubuque/Chicago White Sox) — Catcher hitting .237 in 76 at-bats for high-A Winston-Salem of the Carolina League. Has a home run and 10 RBIs.
Grant Judkins (Iowa/Oakland Athletics) — Pitcher has made nine appearances, five starts, for high-A Lansing of the Midwest League. Has an 0-3 record and 3.90 ERA. Has 28 strikeouts in 30 innings.
Mitch Keller (Cedar Rapids Xavier/Pittsburgh Pirates) — Won all four of his May starts for the Pirates, allowing just 21 hits and four runs in 27 2/3 innings. Is 6-3 with a 3.59 ERA in 11 starts this season.
Austin Krob (Lisbon/San Diego Padres) — Left-hander threw at least five innings in each of his four May starts for Double-A San Antonio (Texas League). Is 2-2 with a 4.17 ERA in nine starts. Has 32 strikeouts in 41 innings this season.
Ty Langenberg (Iowa/Minnesota Twins) — Right-hander has pitched at least five innings in all eight of his starts this season for low-A Fort Myers (Florida State League). In his last four starts, has not allowed more than two runs. Is 2-3 with a 3.56 ERA overall. Just 42 hits allowed in 43 innings, with 52 strikeouts.
Adam Mazur (Iowa/San Diego Padres) — Lit it up for Double-A San Antonio, but the adjustment to Triple-A El Paso and the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League has been difficult. Right-handed starting pitcher is 1-2 with a 7.11 ERA in four Triple-A starts. Does have 18 strikeouts in 19 innings.
Mason McCoy (Iowa/San Diego Padres) — Infielder is hitting .239 with three homers, 25 RBIs and nine stolen bases as a teammate of Mazur with the El Paso Chihuahuas. Approaching 2,700 career at-bats in the minor leagues.
Cole McDonald (New Hampton/Iowa/Houston Astros) — Right-handed pitcher is with Triple-A Sugar Land of the Pacific Coast League. Has no record and an 8.40 ERA. Has 16 strikeouts in 15 innings.
Ian Moller (Dubuque Wahlert/Texas Rangers) — Catcher went 2-for-2 with a pair of walks and a stolen base in his last game for high-A Hickory of the South Atlantic League, against Winston-Salem. Has .212 batting average in 33 games this season, with six swiped bags.
A.J. Puk (Cedar Rapids Washington/Miami Marlins) — Lefty is 0-6 with a 7.52 ERA in 11 appearances. Has a 2.11 WHIP and 15 strikeouts in 21 innings.
Colin Rea (Cascade/Northern Iowa/Milwaukee Brewers) — Continues to pitch well in a starting role for the first-place Brewers. Has 4-2 record and 3.77 earned run average in 11 appearances, 10 starts. Has allowed just 59 hits in 59 2/3 innings.
Tommy Specht (Dubuque Wahlert/Texas Rangers) — Outfielder went through a tough May in which he hit .138. Did finish the month with a hit in his final two games. Has .176 batting average this season in 33 games with 12 RBIs.
Connor Van Scoyoc (Cedar Rapids Jefferson/Colorado Rockies) — Right-hander is 2-5 with a 7.20 ERA in nine starts for Double-A Hartford (Eastern League). A 1.78 WHIP.
Trenton Wallace (Davenport Assumption/Iowa/Toronto Blue Jays) — Southpaw is taking a regular turn through the starting pitching rotation for Double-A New Hampshire of the Eastern League. Is 2-1 with a 2.53 ERA. Has allowed just 27 hits in 42 2/3 innings, with 21 walks and 55 strikeouts.
Keaton Winn (Pekin/Iowa Western Community College/San Francisco Giants) — Is 3-6 with a 6.16 ERA in nine starts for the Giants. Is on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm strain.
