Gase participates in ARCA Series testing

Cedar Rapids native Joey Gase is participating in testing for the ARCA Series today and Tuesday at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.
The Cedar Rapids Xavier senior ran well in the opening day of testing, posting a fast lap of 50.04 seconds. Gase ran 21 laps and had the 23rd fastest lap after the first day, reaching speeds higher than 179 miles per hour.
Gase is racing with Spraker Racing and expects to run more testing laps today.
