August means the end of summer baseball and the start of the grid iron, here are The Gazette visuals staff's August favorite sports photos.

Generally I dislike trophy shots since they are cliche and often not the peak emotion after a victory. But I photographed Ries eight days before for our state baseball preview and as I was editing the images after the game I was happy to see it was him holding up the trophy.
