Welcome to Designated Victory Sunday. Iowa is hosting Coppin State in men's basketball.

Not to worry, though. Because it's Designated Victory Sunday. On with the Fun Facts.
1. Iowa is 3-0 against Coppin State, having played the Eagles in Iowa City in 1998, 2006 and 2012.
2. When the Hawkeyes beat the Eagles in 2012, Iowa was 0-of-17 in 3-point shooting, but still won big, 80-50. It was 40-14 at halftime. Iowa guard Anthony Clemmons, then a freshman, had nine assists in 22 minutes for the Hawkeyes
3. Coppin State lost its opener Friday, 107-80 at Eastern Kentucky. Of all 351 Division I teams, only Cornell University, The Citadel, Bryant and Northern Colorado gave up more points in their season-opener.
4. Last season's Coppin State team allowed over 100 points to Oregon, Illinois, Notre Dame, Hofstra, Connecticut and Delaware State.
5. Coppin State is in Baltimore. It was named after Fanny Jackson Coppin, a pioneer in teacher education. She was born a slave in Washington, D.C. She also was a newspaper columnist. She had an extraordinary life.
6. Last season's Coppin State team went 8-23. It was outscored by 10.9 points per game, outrebounded by 10.7.
7. Eagles Coach Michael Grant was formerly the head coach at Central State University, Southern University and Stillman College, and was an assistant at Kentucky State, Allegheny College, Cleveland State and Toledo.
8. Coppin State plays home games in the Physical Education Complex Arena. It seats 4,100. The average attendance for the Eagles' home games last season was 807.
9. Coppin State plays at Iowa State on Dec. 30.
10. The Eagles are in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Iowa is 15-0 against current MEAC members.
11. Coppin State's two games after this one are against Goldey-Beacom and Chestnut Hill. The Eagles beat Goldey-Beacom last year, 103-50.
