Frush sisters lead Union girls cross country

The three-time defending Class 2A state champion Union Community girls cross country team finds itself among top in the team rankings again. The Knights are third in the 2A team rankings by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.Leading the way for Union is the sister duo of Ashley and Brittany Frush. Ashley, a senior, was the state runner-up at the 2A state meet last year. She is currently rated ninth, individually, and is the highest-ranked of three Knights. Brittany, a junior who placed sixth at state last year, is ranked 14th.The sisters aren't alone. Senior Paige Sears is ranked 20th in 2A after finishing ninth at the 2009 state meet.
