French to make decision next week

Cedar Rapids Kennedy's Christian French said Sunday night he plans on having a press conference next week to announce where he will play college football. The 6-foot-6 senior “athlete” is still considering three schools: Notre Dame, Iowa and Oregon.“Originally, I thought I'd have it done by now,” French said. “But I'm taking my time, thinking hard about it.”French said he decided to wait until next week to announce his decision because this is a holiday week and school isn't in session. He is being recruited as a defensive end, tight end and wide receiver.Despite rumors to the contrary, French said he is playing basketball this season.
