Dasonte Bowen, a 6-foot-3 point guard from Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., has verbally committed to join the Iowa men’s basketball program starting with the 2022-23 season.
Iowa Coach Fran McCaffery has recruited Bowen for over two years, and got his payoff Tuesday after Bowen was on Iowa’s campus last weekend.
Among other schools who were recruiting Bowen were Maryland, Northwestern and Rutgers.
Brown is regarded as a 4-star prospect, one of the top 2022 players in New England. He is from the same school as Hawkeye center Josh Ogundele. Bowen is the first 2022 commitment for Iowa.
Here is a video of Bowen’s highlights.
Bowen is from Worcester, Mass. You want a 17-minute video of a day in his life? Here it is.
