Former Cedar Rapids Xavier prep Michael Harrington has been suspended for 50 games for violating Minor League Baseball's drug prevention and treatment program by testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.
Harrington, an outfielder with the high-Class A Fort Myers Miracle, tested positive for Andarine, according to Baseball America, which is "a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM)."
A 13th-round draft pick of the Minnesota Twins in 2008, Harrington, 24, played college baseball at College of Charleston. He is hitting .145 in 24 games for Fort Myers.
Last season he hit .228 in 107 games for Beloit of the Midwest League.
He is a Marengo native.
