Apr. 20, 2016 9:20 pm
IOWA CITY — Former Iowa guard Andrew Fleming will transfer to Chattanooga, he announced on Instagram and Twitter on Wednesday night.
'I am excited to announce that I will be head to play college basketball for one of the best (coaches) in America,' Fleming wrote. 'I'm thankful for Coach (Matt) McCall and the relationship we have built over the years.'

Fleming, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard, averaged 2.2 points, one assist, and 7.3 minutes in 11 games at Iowa. Before joining Iowa, Fleming played one season at Oak Hill Academy where he hit 38 percent of his 3-point attempts. In his three previous seasons, Fleming led Ensworth (Tenn.) High School to three state titles and was tabbed Tennessee's Division II-AA Mr. Basketball as a junior.
Chattanooga finished 29-6 last season and won the Southern Conference regular-season and tournament titles. The Mocs beat Georgia, Illinois and Dayton and lost to Iowa State in the regular season. Indiana beat Chattanooga 99-74 in an NCAA tournament first-round match-up.
Fleming will sit out next season and then play three for Chattanooga.
'I feel like I can play at a very high level,' Fleming told The Gazette two weeks ago. 'I just feel like I have so much to bring to the table, and for me to do that, I feel like I have to be out there. Anyone who knows me knows that I love to compete, and I challenge guys, and I can help the team. Obviously I wasn't playing enough (at Iowa) and looking forward it didn't seem like things were going to work out the way that I had wanted to and the way I had planned my college career to go.'
Iowa red-shirt forward Brandon Hutton announced he will transfer after the season. He told The Gazette he plans to attend a junior college next year.

The Hawkeyes, who finished 22-11 last year and advanced to the NCAA tournament's second round, have one available scholarship for the upcoming season. Former walk-on Nicholas Baer was placed on scholarship last week.
