Former Iowa State basketball player Jackson Vroman died Monday at age 34.
Multiple reports conflicted on the cause of death.
A release from the Iowa State athletic department stated Vroman 'died Monday from injuries sustained in a car accident.”
The Des Moines Register is reporting that Vroman 'was found dead in a pool at his Los Angeles County residence on Monday morning, a spokesperson with the county's Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner told the Register by phone late Monday night.”
Vroman's prowess was in rebounding, and his career 9.5 rebounds per game average ranks ninth in ISU history.
He transferred to the Cyclones from Snow College (Utah), playing in Ames from 2002-04. After graduation, Vroman was the 31st pick in the 2004 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls.
He played two seasons with the Phoenix Suns and New Orleans Hornets before taking his career overseas, where he eventually became a Lebanese citizen and represented the country on its national team.
