Here are the finalists for this week's KCRG-TV9 Athlete of the Week.
Ian Ford
Cedar Rapids Washington
Swimming
Ian is a senior swimmer on the Washington swim team. Over the weekend at the MVC Conference meet he set a new pool record in the 100m Backstroke winning by .01 of a second. Wash won the team title by just two points over Dubuque Senior. He also placed second in the 200m IM. Ford also swam on the 200m medley relay which took first, and the 400m Free relay which finished second. Basically an all-around swimme, competing in backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke, and IM. He currently has the third fastest 100m backstroke time in the state, at 53.88 seconds, as well as the sixthfastest 200m IM.
Last year he finished fourth at state in the 100m backstroke, seventh in the 200m IM, and also swam on two relays at state.
TJ Lake

Basketball
TJ is a 5-foot-11 junior guard on the 10-2 Bobcat basketball team. Last Friday in a 34-point win over Dubuque Hempstead he scored 26 points while shooting 9 for 12. Lake was also 6 of 7 from 3-point land and had three rebounds and three assists.
On the season he's averaging 18 points, three assists and two rebounds per game while shooting 57 percent from the floor and 43 percent from downtown. Western Dubuque is 10-2 and ranked 6th in Class 3A
Greg Vance
Dubuque Wahlert
Wrestling
Greg is a senior wrestler for Dubuque Wahlert. He set the school record for most victories all-time, and currently has 121 for his career. Vance passed Will Kelly's previous mark of 120 over the weekend. Vance is currently ranked seventh at 126 pounds in Class 2A. He placed fifth last year at state, finishing with a 42-8 record.
