Fennelly has meeting set with Moody

AMES - While the result of the game was never in doubt, a lot remains to be determined about the status of suspended senior Nikki Moody.
Iowa State defeated William Penn, 99-53, last night in its season-opening exhibition game in Hilton Coliseum without the services of Moody, who was suspended indefinitely for 'violations of team rules” last Friday.
Coach Bill Fennelly said in his postgame news conference he hopes to meet with her Thursday to discuss her role with the team. Moody is suspended from all basketball-related activities including games, practices and team meetings.
'As soon as we have that meeting and come to some kind of agreement, I can tell you exactly what the plan will be,” Fennelly said. 'I have a lot of things in my head about what the plan could be, but until I have that meeting with her and sit in a room face to face with her, with the staff to discuss some things on both ends, it's kind of hard to judge.”
On the court, the Cyclones led just 9-3 with just more than 10 minutes remaining in the first half. A 3-pointer by sophomore Jadda Buckley finally took the lid off the basket for Iowa State, which went on a 21-7 run the next six minutes.
The Cyclones had four players in double-figure scoring, including 13 from Buckley. She added six assists, four rebounds and just one turnover and said the start was all about settling down and finding what the team does well on the court.
'There's still a lot of improving to do all around on the court so this is a good first game to learn where we need to go from there,” Buckley said.
