Jan. 11, 2016 4:28 pm
Iowa State senior 133-pounder Earl Hall received national recognition for his latest performance.
Hall went 4-0 at this weekend's Virginia Duals, posting a 6-5 last-second decision over Virginia Tech's Dennis Gustafson, lifting the Cyclones to a 16-14 victory over the fifth-ranked Hokies for the team title. Iowa State (7-2) avenged a 32-3 loss to Virginia Tech to start the season. The performance earned him USA Wrestling's Athlete of the Week honors.
Hall also recorded two decisions and a major during the two-day event. Hall, a 2014 All-American at 125 and two-time NCAA qualifier, is ranked as high as ninth nationally. He is 21-5 this season.
