Drake Relays: Solon's Ferguson wins shot put

DES MOINES -- Solon senior Dalton Ferguson won the high school boys' shot put at the Drake Relays on Friday morning.Ferguson launched a 55-4.5 throw, which beat out Lewis Central's Jacob Barents for the title. Barents threw a 54-11.75.Shelby Gunnells of Solon won the girls' shot put on Thursday, and Ferguson credited the team's coach for Solon's success in the event.
