DeBoer commits to College of Charleston

Former Iowa City West pitcher Josh DeBoer has verbally committed to play college baseball next year at College of Charleston, DeBoer's family has announced.DeBoer is a sophomore at Des Moines Area Community College in Boone. He helped West to the Class 4A state championship game in 2009.Solon senior pitcher Brandon Shulista signed a letter of intent this week to play baseball at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge.Shulista led the Spartans to the Class 2A state championship this past season.
