CRAG’s Davidson wins 4 state gymnastics titles

DES MOINES - Sidney Davidson of the Cedar Rapids Association of Gymnastics won four events and teammate Riley Smith three at the Iowa state gymnastics tournament.
Davidson won the vault, bars, beam and all around and Smith captured the vault, beam and all around, both in Level 7.
CRAG's Jenna Danninger won the floor exercise in Level 9.
Placewinners were Shea Johnson, Autumn Poston and Lexie Goldsmith in Level 6; Megan Norris, Jenna Carney, Hailey Hakes, Ava Andrews and Grace Walker in Level 7; and Carly Mark and Lauren Fruehling in Level 9.
Mark, Danninger, Fruehling and Kareena McSweeny will compete for Iowa in the 2017 Regional Championships in April in South Dakota.
Twisters' Peterson wins 4 titles
DES MOINES - Alexis Peterson of Twisters Gymnastics won four title and Payton Basquin two last weekend at the Iowa state championships last weekend.
Peterson won the vault, bars, beam and all round in Level 9, Basquin the beam and all around in Level 6.
Elyssa MacCormick (bars) and Lacey Neighbor (vault) were Level 7 winners.
Other Twisters placewinners were Riley Kalous and Samantha Triplett in Level 8; and Ava Van Berkum, McKenna Haugen and Peyton Krotz in Level 6.
