Cornell secures first win under Brautigam

Down 21-10 at halftime, Cornell rallied in the second half to down Olivet College, 36-35, in the season opener for both schools Saturday in Olivet, Mich.
The victory was the first as Rams' head coach for Vince Brautigam, who went 0-10 in his first season.
Quarterback Juan Flores ran for two scores and threw for two more, including the game-winner with 7:16 remaining. Nick Brautigam also returned an interception 60 yards for a score.
Flores ran for 103 yards on 11 carries and completed 12 of 16 passes for 123 yards. Tyler Bailey led the Rams' defense with 13 tackles.
UPPER IOWA 15, TEXAS A&M-COMMERCE 14 - At Fayette, Jordan Otdoerfer scored on a 3-yard run, Steven Sandoval kicked a pair of field goals and Upper Iowa got an early safety that proved to be the difference in the first game played on the new FieldTurf in Eischeid Stadium.
Upper Iowa netted just 219 yards of total offense, but controlled the ball for nearly 37 minutes to get the win.
Otdoerfer led the rushing attack with 41 yards on 19 carries. Quarterback Cole Jaeschke completed 9 of 17 passes for 133 yards. Defensive back Tom Nesvik paced the defense with 10 tackles.
HARDIN-SIMMONS 41, COE 14 - At Abilene, Texas, Coe got on the board first, but then surrendered 34 unanswered points.
Brendan Leiran's 6-yard run put the Kohawks up early, but Coe had no answer for Hardin-Simmons quarterback Taylor Byrd. He completed 23 of 31 passes for 326 yards and three touchdowns.
Leiran rushed for 102 yards on 18 carries to lead Coe. Quarterback Brad Boyle struggled, completing 11-of-30 passes for 114 yards and three interceptions.
ST. OLAF 24, LUTHER 22 - At St. Olaf, Minn., Luther's Chris Reynolds scored on a 28-yard run with 3:11 remaining, but he was stopped short on a two-point attempt as the Norse fell short in their opener.
Luther's other TDs came on a 2-yard run by Dan Ridenour and an 80-yard kickoff return from Don Porter.
Ridenour carried 19 time for 83 yards to lead Luther. Reynolds completed 13 of 28 passes for 114 yards, but was picked off twice by the St. Olaf defense.
Linebacker Kyle McGivney lead Luther with 18 tackles.
