Conrad steps down, after all

INDEPENDENCE -- Rod Conrad has resigned as head girls basketball coach at Independence High School after all.
Athletics Director Rob Arnold confirmed that he received Conrad's resignation Wednesday morning."I fully respect his decision but was hopeful for a different outcome," Arnold told The Gazette via Twitter.Conrad originally turned in his resignation last week, but asked Arnold to hold it until making a final decision Wednesday.The original resignation was "due to frustration with a few parents creating issues for the coaching staff," according to a release by the school.Arnold said that Conrad had no further comment.Independence was 10-12 last season.
