Moser athletes shine in USTA meet
WAVERLY - Thirty-four Moser School of Dance and Gymnastic athletes won titles at a USTA Power Tumbling meet last month.
Seventeen Iowa clubs and around 500 athletes competed.
Moser winners were Luke Farmer, Noa Marting, Katie Boeding, Trudy Loecke, Lucy Loecke, Hannabelle Erickson, Tucker Erickson, Keely Recker, Reagan Brown, Kayla Kelly, Megan Pierschbacher, Emmy Troester, Madison O'Hea, Grace Funke, Natalie Meyers, Milkya Britton, Samantha Ahlrichs, Sophia Ahlrichs, Ericka Braden, Josie Briggs, Kennedy Collins, Maya Burkhart, Amelia Eager, Lily Schmitz, Jorgie Wendling, Journey Even, Micah Brase, Daniel Clayberg, Kylie Henry, McAllister Sweeney, Anna Sweeney, Logan Bevans, Kennedi Bevans and Joshua Beatty.
Addison Reetz finished second, as did Taylor Guthrie, Ella Marting, Hanna Marting, Isabella Barrett, Taeryn Chrystal, Avery Krapfl, Emma Govier, Ellie Bockenstedt, Carissa Miller, Ava Steger, Cierra Weipert, Amber Meyers, Elli Connolly, Olivia Thier, Claire Heinrichs, Sophia Geistkemper, Claire Weisse, Lilee Borisky, Isabel Lutgen, Emma Oberbroeckling, Clara Finger, Alivia Sweeney, Avery Sweeney, Charles Sweeney, Rachel Clayberg, Zoe Bailey, Hannah Bovy, Sophie Brown and Jason Recker.
Third-place finishers were Jessie Glanz, Riley Lee, Kennedi Rogers, Kennady Sanderson, Ike Schulte, Lena Petlon, Ava Bockenstedt, Kendallyn Recker, Kole Pape, Kathleen Looney, Whitley Harber, Gertrude Wall, Annie Gulick, Myra Clasen, Gabbi Funke, Paige McCoy, Christina Engelman, Julianne Engelman, Sophia Raubs and Aly Sayre.
CRAG's Beyer places in regional
Todd Beyer II of the Cedar Rapids Association of Gymnastics earned a berth in the USAG national championships next month with his performance the Region IV Championships last weekend.
IOWA CITY - Beyer had six Top 10 finishes, including fifth on the vault and sixth on the parallel bars and in the all around. He was seven on the floor exercise and pommel horse and eighth on still rings.
The national meet is May 7-9 in Long Beach, Calif.
Chicks on Top wins state 8-ball title
DES MOINES - Chicks on Top, the Iowa City women's 8-ball league champions, won the ACS Iowa State Championships last weekend.
The team won its second Level 1 Division title.
Team members are Cindy Clark, Kris Jarrard, Silver Hong, Kris Duncan and Tricia Slade, the team's captain. Slade also finished second in singles.
