CEDAR RAPIDS - Washboard abs. Powerful quads. Wide backs.
Drug free bodybuilding, figure, bikini, Xtreme fit is coming to Cedar Rapids. along with a power lifting meet and an endurance hill Climb.
The 14th annual Best of the Midwest Bodybuilding, Xtreme Fit, Bikini and Figure Championships are Saturday at Roosevelt Middle School. Prejudging starts at 8:30 a.m., with the final show taking center stage at 6 p.m. The hill climb begins at 10 a.m. and the power lifting meet at 11 a.m.
The competition is open to natural bodybuilders and fitness fanatics from all over the nation. Last year, athletes came in from six different states. All ages, shapes, sizes and muscularity levels will be represented. The contest is sanctioned by the North American Natural Bodybuilding Federation (NANBF).
The key word that sets these competitors apart is “natural.” No chemically-enhanced athletes are allowed and every competitor will undergo a polygraph exam and be subject to a urinalysis. The seven-year drug free eligibility requirement is strictly enforced.
Ticket are $13 for prejudging and $18 for the finals. A special VIP pass for the finals is $30. Cedar Rapids MMA fighter Eric Koch will signing autographs during the finals.
