Coe's Boyle named MVP of Iowa Conference

Coe College quarterback Brad Boyle has been named the Iowa Conference's most valuable football player for the 2009 season. The sophomore from North Mahaska had 31 touchdowns passing and running this season and just one interception, that coming in the final regular-season game against Cornell.

Coe's Steve Staker was named IIAC Coach of the Year. The Kohawks play at St. John's (Minn.) in the first round of the NCAA Division III playoff Saturday at noon.

Coe had other first-team all-IIAC picks in offensive lineman Logan Weber, defensive end Frank Weymiller and linebackers Tate Harrison and Calvin Thomas.

Cornell's first teamers were safety Don Bladt and tight end Alex Macey.
