Kansas took over the No. 1 spot in the USA Today Coaches poll Monday ahead of its 8 p.m. game at Iowa State. The Jayhawks are still No. 2 in the Associated Press poll, jumped by Villanova for the top spot.
The change follows Baylor's one-week reign. The Bears dropped to No. 6 after an 89-68 loss at West Virginia.
Villanova, UCLA, Gonzaga and Kentucky round out the coaches top five.
Maryland, Iowa's next opponent (6 p.m. Thursday) entered the poll at No. 25. Purdue fell from No. 19 to No. 22 after Thursday's 83-78 loss at Iowa. Northwestern, which blasted the Hawkeyes 89-54 Sunday night, received the most votes among unranked teams. No. 17 Wisconsin is this week's highest-ranked Big Ten team.
Despite the ice storm that hit Iowa Monday morning, ISU announced tonight's game will be played as scheduled.

'Although we fully anticipate that Cyclone fans will come out in full force for this evening's game, we strongly encourage fans to use extreme caution as weather conditions can vary significantly, especially in outlying areas,' ISU athletics director Jamie Pollard said in a release.
