UPDATE: Iowa City High senior quarterback A.J. Derby announced his intention to play football at the University of Iowa at a press conference at City High this afternoon.
Derby had become one of the state's most-sought recruits in history with scholarship offers from Florida, Michigan, LSU, Miami, Florida State, Alabama and Nebraska. His brother, Zach, is a red-shirt freshman tight end at Iowa. His father, John, was an all-Big Ten linebacker during his career as a Hawkeye.
